Omani hotels report 15.5% jump in revenues

According to figures by Oman's National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), hotels in the sultanate have posted a 15.5% increase in revenues to OR82.5m in the first eight months of 2012, Muscat Daily has reported. Occupancy at five-star hotels jumped to 51.6% from 45% in the same period last year, while occupancy in four-star hotels increased to 51.4% from 50.9%. The total number of guests in the country's four- and five-star hotels rose 21% during the first eight-month period to 400,221 from 331,103 in the same period last year, the data showed.
