Omani lender given until Jan. 2013 to comply with Basel III

Oman's central bank has set January 2013 as the deadline for lenders operating in the sultanate to comply with the latest global regulatory standards on bank capital adequacy, stress test and market liquidity risk (Basel III), Times of Oman has reported. The local banks will start working on it by 2013 and they will not have any hurdle in implementing the norms set in Basel III, Hamoud Sangour Al Zadjali, executive president of the central bank, told the daily.
