Omani group plans $100m investment in Air Tanzania

A group of Omani investors is planning to invest $100m in the national carrier of Tanzania to help the ailing airline's revival plans, Muscat Daily has reported. Air Tanzania Co Ltd (ATCL) and Al Hayat Development and Investment Co, which is leading the Omani consortium, are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding by the end of this week. Sheikh Salim al Harthy, chairman of Al Hayat Development, said the plan is to build an airline training centre, offices for ATCL, buy aircraft and engage in other development activities which they plan to initiate within six to ten months.
