- PRESS RELEASE
The Omani Products Exhibition in Riyadh came to a successful end with more than 30 Memorandums of Understanding and Trade Agreements signed between Omani manufactures and Saudi investors and businessmen. The four day event displayed the Sultanate's diverse local industrial capabilities and brought suppliers face to face with importers with the aim to provide national products with a foothold in the influential Saudi market.
Talal Al Sayegh, General Manager of Galaxy for Advanced Services Company, said during his visit to the exhibition, "I am greatly impressed with the range and quality of Omani products and, as a Saudi businessman, it is important to keep abreast with what is available in the market. The exhibition provided me with the opportunity to sign an agreement with Fahmy Furniture and opened new avenues of partnership with several exhibitors in the fields of mining and construction."
Nasima Yahya Al Balushi, Director General, Export Directorate of The Public Authority for Investment Promotion & Export Development (PAIPED) said, "The Authority is committed to provide local producers with the ideal platform to conduct successful business meetings and establish sustainable long-term relations. The Saudi market offers a multitude of new investment opportunities for Omani companies and we have therefore dedicated our efforts to organizing the first Omani Products Exhibition in Riyadh."
She added, "The success of the exhibition would not have been possible without the collaboration of the participants, organizers and government organizations. Our role, however, does not end here, it is our responsibility to assess the outcome of such initiatives. We have distributed a survey to all participants and visitors in order to identify the challenges and explore new ways for Omani products to reach a wider market."
Oman-based, Al Shanfari Marble Company participated in the exhibition. Board Member, Ahmed Awadh Al Shanfari, said "The great role played by organizations such as PAIPED cannot go unrecognized as they work to increase awareness on the importance of such exhibitions as well as provide key insight into the new technologies and methods utilized to better position our products internationally."
The exhibition was held from December 24th to 27th 2012 and was organized by the Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry (OCCI), the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) and The Public Authority for Investment Promotion & Export Development (PAIPED).
The event included participation from leading companies in the fields of food and beverages, textiles and fabrics, perfumes and cosmetics, fire alarm and fire-fighting equipment, agricultural equipment and building materials.
