  • Oman: Tuesday, May 07 - 2013 at 05:24

Omani contractor Al Hassan Engineering Co has posted a 18% drop in net profit for the first quarter of 2013 to OR233,000 from OR285,000 in the corresponding period last year, Muscat Daily has reported. The company's contract income fell 21% to OR13.74m from OR17.32m. "Although behind for the same period in 2012, the contract income is generally in line with the anticipated turnover phasing expected during 2013. Profitability has reduced mainly due to provisions made against the company impairment policy on receivables," said chairman Hassan bin Ali Salman. Total assets of the company increased 9.8% to OR64m from OR58.29m.
