Oman's OR6bn rail project to be funded by GCC states

Oman's finance minister, Darwish bin Ismaeel al Balushi has said fellow members of the will provide funding to the country's National Railway System, Oman Daily Observer has reported. The bloc has pledged a total of $10bn in financial aid, payable in a yearly tranche of $1bn over a 10-year period. "The projects towards which the GCC financial aid will be utilised are currently being identified," said al Balushi. "They include the railway project, Al Batinah Expressway, electric and water networks, and the provision of infrastructure at Duqm Special Economic Zone and other industrial estates."
