Oman's Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) has said the new airport in Salalah is set to meet its 2014 deadline, with 50% of construction completed, Oman Daily Observer has reported. Flights to many new international destinations will operate directly from Salalah soon after the commissioning of the new airport, said PACA chief executive Salim al Aufi. "We are planning to finish the construction and commissioning work by this year and hopeful of opening the airport for first passenger in early 2014," said al Aufi.
