Omantel negotiating fibre optic cable network lease

Omantel is in talks with Haya Water and Telecoms Regulatory Authority (TRA) for leasing high-speed fibre optic cables to home and offices in Muscat governorate from Haya Water, Times of Oman has reported. "Instead of investing in fibre optic cable, we want to rent it from Haya. There is a discussion between Haya Water, TRA and Omantel. We have not reached an agreement (with Haya) on prices and we are not in a hurry," said chief operating officer of Omantel, Samy al Ghassany.
