Omantel is Traffic Safety Expo 2012's telecom partner

All drivers should refrain from the act of texting and making or attending calls or messages while in the driver's seat. Although there is no doubt that technology has an important role to play in setting road safety standards within the country, an attitude that is supportive of safety must be adopted by all citizens of the country.

With this aspect in mind, Omantel organised a vehicle preventive driving course 'in cooperation with Traffic Safety Institute' earlier this year, which 100 Omantel employees participated in.

The Health, Safety and Environment Department, part of the organisation structure also ensures that all Omantel employees receive adequate training in all matters related to traffic safety.

The Traffic Safety Expo 2012 is held from 16th to 18th October 2012 and is open from 10:00 am-1:00pm and 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm, organized this year under the theme Safety is Everyone's Responsibility and will bring senior government officials, senior police representatives, fire and rescue safety officers, local authorities, industry executives, engineers, fleet managers, other road safety related professionals, visitors and the media together under one roof to promote road safety and discourage reckless driving behavior.
