Online advertising spending in Lebanon up 29%

According to a survey by research firm IPSOS-STAT, advertising spending in Lebanon has outpaced GDP growth by increasing 4.5% in 2012, with online advertising posting a 29% growth rate while maintaining the smallest market share, ArabAd has reported. Real advertising expenditures in the country rose to $182m in 2012 from $174m in the previous year. Radio and TV advertising spending jumped 11% and 8%, respectively, while newspaper and magazine ads grew 5%. However, billboard ad spending dropped 4.4% in 2012, despite maintaining second place in the market.
