OSN strengthens senior management team with appointment of Senior Vice President for Human Resources

OSN, the leading pay-TV network in Middle East and North Africa, has appointed John Vickerman as Senior Vice President of Human Resources (HR) to drive business and people strategies for OSN across the region.
David Butorac, CEO of OSN said: "This is a significant appointment for OSN and illustrates our commitment to the core of the business: our people. OSN encourages a performance-based culture and nurtures talent - I look forward to working closely with John to produce tomorrow's global leaders reinforcing our leadership position in the regions broadcast sector."
Commenting on his appointment, John said: "OSN makes significant investments in its people and recognises its employees as a key component to its success. I am delighted to join OSN at such an exciting time and to work alongside industry leaders who are bringing about innovation and positive change in the region's entertainment sector."
John's career highlights include his most recent role with Qtel Group (Qatar Telecommunications) as Advisor to the CEO for Nawras, Oman's telecommunications provider, where he originated and led the company's 'Turnaround Plan' to reinvigorate the commercial strategy.
Prior to this role, John successfully ran his own company in new media specialising in providing expert support to senior executives on people-centred issues as well as coaching high profile individuals, developing HR strategies and business transformation. He also held the position of HR Director for the BBC from 2008 to 2011, where he was responsible for the organisation's corporate activities including HR policy, processes, as well as the provision of services to all employees and freelance contractors.
