Paiped champions Oman's participation at 8th World Chambers Congress

Armed with a mandate to create wealth through investment promotion and export development, The Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development (PAIPED) has facilitated the participation of 15 Omani organizations in the 8th World Chambers Congress scheduled to be held 22nd - 25th April in Doha, Qatar.

Under the theme 'Opportunities for All', the Congress aims to promote free and expanded trade which will allow businesses to build a stronger global community, foster economic development and prosperity for all.

On the sidelines of the Congress, Omani public and private sector organizations will represent the Sultanate at an exhibition - these include the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Duqm Special Economic Zone Authority (SEZAD), the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) and Port of Salalah - who will showcase a range of services to Congress participants.

The exhibition will offer participants the opportunity to exchange experiences and success stories with global pioneers while accessing the World Chambers' rich database to identify new trade and business prospects.

With less than six weeks to the Congress, Faris bin Nasser Al Farsi, PAIPED's Director General of Investment Promotion said: "Preparations are now in full swing and we are holding co-ordination meetings next week with everyone involved to ensure Oman's 432m2 pavilion deliver a strong and appealing message."

Al Farsi went on to add: "The caliber of this exhibition and the global audience it attracts provides Oman-based organizations with a powerful platform to promote themselves to more than 1,500 chamber leaders drawn from over 100 countries. More importantly, it will position the Sultanate as an innovative, entrepreneurial and forward-thinking nation that is on an accelerated path to economic diversification."

PAIPED's Director General for Investment Promotion reiterated that in order for such events to deliver solid economic returns, PAIPED works closely with government agencies and the business community to explore new partnerships that will help local firms penetrate international markets as well identify potential partners interested in taking advantage of the Sultanate's foreign investment incentives.

Held for the first time in the Middle East, the 8th World Chambers Congress is organized by ICC's World Chambers Federation and hosted by the Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
