Partnerships Technical Bureau join expert delegation at the 2nd Annual PPP Investment Summit Kuwait

The 2nd Annual PPP Investment Summit Kuwait, taking place at the Hilton Kuwait Resort, Kuwait City, opened yesterday morning with an industry leading delegation in attendance. Partnership Technical Bureau (PTB), Kharafi National, Ernst and Young, ASAR, and Al Thuraya Company were among the VIP attendees at the opening of this industry led summit.
PTB has spearheaded the development of the PPP projects through encouraging the private sector participation in development projects.
Mr Al Roumi's presentation provided a timely insight into key developments in the PPP project objectives and an overview of the 2013 and 2014 project update.
The projects that were discussed by the PTB team were Umm Al Hayman waste water project, Alkhairan and Az-Zour North and Municipal Solid Waste Treatment Facility. These presentations followed an intense 30 minutes Q&A session between the PTB team and delegates.
Over the course of the summit, delegates benefited from keynote presentations focussing on master planning, project financing, new PPP project laws and bid governance. These key themes are critical to laying the foundations for strong and successful PPP project developments.
Day two of the conference started with H.E. Mr. Nicolaas Beets, Ambassador of the Embassy of the Netherlands, giving an overview of the successful projects in the Netherlands.
Following this Eng. Suhaila Marafi, Ministry of Electricity and Water, highlighted the challenges of the current energy issues in Kuwait and how PPP projects will help to overcome these challenges in the next 5 years.
Finally, Loay Ghazaleh from Bahrain Ministry of Work, took the delegates through a journey of renewable energy PPP options, and how the Gulf is slowly looking at this as a viable option. The day finished on a high with an interactive session discussing alternative investments.
