The Pearl-Qatar to host festive day of sports in Qanat Quartier

United Development Company (UDC), a leading Qatari shareholding company, announced it plans to celebrate Qatar's National Sports Day on the 12th of February 2013 at The Pearl-Qatar with a fun-filled program of sporting activities for employees and their families, as well as residents of The Pearl-Qatar, as part of the officially declared National Sporting Day in the State of Qatar.
A "mini Olympics" comprising of a variety of fun games such as egg and spoon race, sack race, three-legged race and the "people pyramid" will be one of the highlights of the day.
Additional highlights will include races and other fun activities for children, together with a face-painting station and a playground area that features a bouncy castle, inflatable slide, balloon twisting and much more. Food and refreshments will be available for all throughout the day.
"We are very pleased to support this initiative by taking part in the National Sports Day 2013," Ebrahim Al-Sulaiti, UDC's Chief Executive Officer, said.
"This is a wonderful opportunity that brings UDC employees and residents of The Pearl-Qatar together for some exciting and fun-filled sporting activities, promoting at the same time a lifestyle of health and wellbeing for Qataris and expatriates alike."
The National Sports Day is an initiative that was launched last year by HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Heir Apparent. It is part of Qatar's vision to help local institutions create a healthy community as well as an integral part of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), with a mission to promote sports, physical education and sustainable development in the State of Qatar.
