The Pearl-Qatar to host festive day of sports in Qanat Quartier

The festivities will take place at the stunning Lido Venezia Beach in Qanat Quartier where Pearl-Qatar residents and employees from different UDC departments and subsidiaries will participate in a range of sporting activities featuring competitions in basketball, football, beach volleyball, tug-o-war, touch rugby and cricket, to name a few.

A "mini Olympics" comprising of a variety of fun games such as egg and spoon race, sack race, three-legged race and the "people pyramid" will be one of the highlights of the day.

Additional highlights will include races and other fun activities for children, together with a face-painting station and a playground area that features a bouncy castle, inflatable slide, balloon twisting and much more. Food and refreshments will be available for all throughout the day.

"This is a wonderful opportunity that brings UDC employees and residents of The Pearl-Qatar together for some exciting and fun-filled sporting activities, promoting at the same time a lifestyle of health and wellbeing for Qataris and expatriates alike."

The National Sports Day is an initiative that was launched last year by HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Heir Apparent. It is part of Qatar's vision to help local institutions create a healthy community as well as an integral part of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), with a mission to promote sports, physical education and sustainable development in the State of Qatar.
