- United Arab Emirates: 6 hours, 12 minutes ago
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a new initiative allowing motorists to obtain number plates adorned with the Burj Khalifa and other Dubai landmarks, Gulf News has reported. "It is intended to offer an opportunity for vehicle owners to pronounce their interests, inclinations and aspirations through picturesque images of Dubai icons, which will also enhance the concept of number plates," said Ahmad Hashem Behroozian, CEO of RTA's Licensing Agency. The facility, set to be launched by the end of first quarter of 2013, will allow enthusiasts to choose from a selection of landmarks as well as cultural and historical monuments, apart from sports clubs, although the list has yet to be finalised.
