Philippines Airlines mulling services to Manama
- Bahrain: Tuesday, February 26 - 2013 at 03:21
Philippines Airlines is considering launching a direct route between Manila and the Bahraini capital, Manama, to cash in on the gap left by Gulf Air, Gulf Daily News has reported, citing unnamed sources. "Nothing is final and nothing has been decided but the airline is studying the possibility of flying routes to Bahrain," the sources were quoted by the daily as saying. "There has been a reduction in the flight numbers coming and going from Bahrain to Philippines and if the flights stop, the possibility will become very real." Gulf Air has cut down and reduced flight frequencies to several of its destinations, including those to the Philippines, as part of its restructuring strategy.
