Pink Caravan presents social entrepreneurship module at Sharjah Tatweer Forum

The Pink Caravan initiative, created by the Friends of Cancer Patients charity organisation (FoCP) participated at Sharjah Tatweer Forum's conference 'Getting Down To Business' by exhibiting a presentation called 'The Pink Caravan - a social entrepreneurship module' by Dr. Sawsan al Madhi, Secretary General for Friends of Cancer Patients charitable organisation (FoCP) and Head of the Pink Caravan's Medical and Awareness committee.
The participation at the conference didn't stop there; the Pink Caravan mobile mammography machine was also in attendance at the expo center, offering free medical screenings for both men and women throughout the conference.
To date, the Pink Caravan has successfully screened over 16,776 men and women since its inception in 2011 and it is currently gearing up for their annual Pink Caravan Ride, which treks across all seven Emirates, with a mobile medical unit, promoting awareness and providing clinical screenings to all along the journey.
The (FOCP) charity proudly operates under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed AI-Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and Federal Supreme Council, Member Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, founder and royal Patron of the Friends of Cancer Patients.
The registration for this Pink Caravan pan-UAE horse ride was also open at the conference and encouraged both men and women to volunteer as riders, throughout the eleven day event from the 2nd February to the 12th. It can be followed online throughout the journey at #TPCUAE.
On the occasion of the conference and presentation, Dr. Sawsan said, "We are very thankful that we are able to promote our charitable organisation at a forum designed to promote to business and enterprising initiatives, as we started with just an idea. The Pink Caravan had to be innovative, novel and add social value to help transform social believes about Breast Cancer and early detection, breaking the current norms and introducing new norms were breast Cancer early detection is the standard practice. This resulted in the creation of the Pink Caravan annual and pan Emirate, Ride."
