  • PRESS RELEASE

In an effort to evaluate and improve Du's Emergency Contingency Plan, an Emergency Evacuation Drill was recently conducted at the telecommunication company's 45-stories Al Salam Tower head office in Dubai Media City.

Mobilising more than 1000 Du employees, the exercise was organized in cooperation with the Dubai Civil Defence, the Dubai Police, the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services and TECOM.

The company has instituted emergency coordinators in each team, ensuring that they are adequately trained to liaise with employees in case of emergencies. In the lead-up to the exercise, employees were also briefed by Du's Health, Safety, Security and Environment Department as well as the HR Training Department, to guarantee a clear delivery of instructions and steady process.

The 45-minute Emergency Evacuation Drill entailed having the emergency coordinators lead the employees down flights of stairs to reach the ground floor.
