POSCO to fund micro-grid system in Abu Dhabi

Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) has announced it plans to develop 100 % renewable energy micro-grid system in Abu Dhabi, in partnership with the Masdar Institute and the South Korea's Research Institute for Industrial Science and Technology (RIST). Initial conceptual design for the system was given by Masdar Institute in October 2010. The project coordination will be done by GGGI, while design and simulation of micro-grid with renewable energy will be undertaken by the Masdar Institute. POSCO, the world's fourth-largest steelmaker, and GCCI are to provide financial support of about $1m for the project.
