Prime Minister and Foreign Minister inaugurate the 10th Doha Jewelry and Watches Exhibition

Excitement and anticipation mounted as the glittering Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) 2013 opened at the Doha Exhibition Center. In the top three of the world's jewelry shows, the exhibition was opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony by the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani welcomed by QTA Chairman HE Eng Issa Al-Mohannadi.
The seven day exhibition was organized by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and this year sponsored by Qatar National Bank (QNB).
Featuring over 530 international and regional brands of the finest jewelry and luxury timepieces, the exhibition dazzled with the world's most glamorous and fashionable marques. Many spectacular pieces are being exclusively revealed at the Show this week to the public.
In addition to an impressive list of regular exhibitors, the 10th annual exhibition is hosting many new participants for the first time, including some of the world's best known names such as Christie's from London and Matis Jewelry, who aim to establish a base in the jewelry industry in Qatar. The exhibition covers nearly 15,000 square metres of wall to wall sparklers.
Covered with stunning lighting designs in royal purple, glistening like jewels, the Doha Exhibition Centre stands out like a galaxy of stars in Doha's night skyline.
Over the past decade the DJWE has become a record-beating event and is now the third largest exhibition of its kind in the world. This year's edition has an impressive increase of 15% of international brands on display.
QTA's role to promote Qatar as a first-rate destination for business, industry conferences, cultural events, education, sports and leisure, by providing world-class amenities and tourism services is borne out by the rising success and sheer luster of this exhibition.
The event puts Doha firmly at the center of innovation in jewelry and watches design, and underlines QTA's determination to showcase world-class gems and watches to visitors and residents alike.
Among the significant Qatari exhibitors in the event are Al Fardan Jewellery Company Ghadah Jewellery / Al Manara Trading , Ali Bin Ali group, Al Majed Jewellery, Blue Saloon, Al Muftah Jewellery, Amiri Gems WLL, (51) Fifty One East, Al Jaber watches, Pari Gallery, Marzooq Al Shamlan & Sons WLL, Al Majed Pearls / Dar Al Majid Jewellery, Royal Jewellery (Al Malakia), Bulgari Jewellery, Al Makki Jewellery & Watches, Al Mawali Jewellery, Matis Jewellery, Versailles Jewellery, Wazni Jewellery, Doha Marketing Services Co. (Domasco), Safana Jewellery.
International brands featuring in the show include Mouawad Jewellery W.L.L., AL Zain Trading Co WLL, Graff/Qatar Marketing Co., Christie's Jewellery.
The show is open all week for visitors from February 26th to 28th at 12:00 pm to 10 pm, on March 1st from 4pm to 10pm, and from March 2nd - 3rd at 12.00pm to 10pm.
