Qatar Fuel Additives Co (Qafac) has announced its annual sales exceeded $1bn last year, the Peninsula has reported. Qafac, a subsidiary of Industries Qatar, attributed the positive performance to improved prices and strong demand. The company is set to commission one of the world's largest commercial scale carbon dioxide recovery projects, enabling it to enhance the production capacity of methanol, Qafco said. It will recover 500 tonnes per day (tpd) of carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, from its methanol reformer stack and will inject it back into its existing process to enhance the production capacity of methanol, it said.
