Qafco 6 set for official launch on Dec 11

Qatar Fertiliser Co (Qafco) has announced that it will formally inaugurate its latest latest expansion, the $610m Qafco 6 on December 11, Gulf Times has reported. Qafco said the project will increase its annual production capacity of urea to 5.6 million tonnes per year and strengthen the company's position as a key player in the global fertiliser market. The project's facilities include a complete urea plant, with a design capacity of 3800 tonnes per day (tpd) of urea, including a granulator unit with a design capacity of 3850 tpd; a complete urea granules storage, with a capacity of 175,000 tonnes; a complete material handling system with a capacity of 1000 tonnes per hour of urea granules.
