Qatar aims to eliminate measles by 2015

Qatar's Supreme Council of Health (SCH) is stepping up efforts to provide adequate protection for Qatar residents against communicable diseases by monitoring and ensuring that all newcomers, including children, are vaccinated against the transmissible diseases, Gulf Times has reported. "We are now updating our programmes focusing on the communicable diseases in the country, which include measles elimination strategy by 2015," said the head of the communicable diseases section at the SCH, Dr Mohamed al-Hajri. The programme was developed with the World Health Organisation, al-Hajri noted.
