Qatar Airways has signed a codeshare agreement with American Airlines providing new growth opportunities for American in the Middle East and for Qatar in the US, Arabian Aerospace has reported. Following government approvals the new codeshare agreement will offer customers more choices by allowing the two airlines to work together to improve flight schedules and connection times. "For Qatar Airways, they will be able to offer customers more gateways into the USA and likewise, American Airlines will be able to offer customers even greater access to the GCC, particularly as US airlines are very reticent and wary about competing in the Arabia Gulf with more astute and stronger Arab airlines," said analyst Saj Ahmad.
