Qatar to commission Barzan project in 2014

Qatari energy minister Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada has said the country's Barzan off-shore gas project is on track to be commissioned next year, the Peninsula has reported. The project will provide 1.4 billion cubic feet per day (bcuft/d) of gas for domestic industrial consumption, he said. Barzan is a joint venture of Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil Qatar for which RasGas is the operating company. It comprises two trains with the first planned to come on stream in 2014.
