Qatar Development Bank is founding partner of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2012 Doha

Qatar Development Bank (QDB), the award-winning organization, is set to contribute with a series of entrepreneurship-driven workshops at the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2012 (GEW 2012) Doha, Qatar. GEW is slated to take place in the country from November 11 to 17, 2012 at the Crowne Plaza hotel.
The Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world's largest celebration of the innovators and job creators, who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare.
During one week each November, GEW inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators. These activities, from large-scale competitions and events to intimate networking gatherings, connect participants to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors—introducing them to new possibilities and exciting opportunities.
At GEW 2012 Doha, QDB will be running a series of presentations and workshops on November 15 at the hotel's Manar B hall starting with a welcome note by the bank to all attendees who will include scores of entrepreneurs, representatives of the Qatari private sector companies and other industry stakeholders.
Jawaher Humaid Al-Noaimi, Programme Manager of 'Al Dhameen' at QDB will follow with a thorough overview of the history of the credit-guaranteed product, benefits of indirect lending and how 'Al Dhameen' plays an enhancing role within the domestic private sector.
Additionally, the Commercial Bank of Qatar, Doha Bank and Al Khaliji Bank will give talks about SMEs and SMEs banking while Amna Jassim Sultan, Business Counselor of the Advisory Services at QDB will speak about the bank's comprehensive SME Toolkit for small businesses.
Bipin Shete, QDB Advisory's Regional Partner and BDO Public Accountants and Management Consultants will look into the Toolkit's relevance to SMEs and will present some of its functionalities and tools.
Saleh Al Khuleifi, Manager of Bedaya Centre will wrap up with a case study on the SME Toolkit before an award ceremony organized by QDB to recognize and honor the exemplar efforts of 10 Relationship Managers representing various partner banks in Qatar alongside 5 cross-industry projects making an influential impact within their field.

GEW initiative kicked off in 2008, launched by former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Carl Schramm, the president and CEO of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. Since then, it has grown to 115 countries—with nearly 24,000 partner organizations planning more than 37,000 activities that directly engage more than 7 million people. GEW helps map the entrepreneurial ecosystem in those countries and enjoys the participation and support of presidents and prime ministers on every continent.
