Qatar Exchange crosses 8,800 points

The QE 20 Index rose by 0.24% Wednesday to hit 8,801.31 points, the highest level since April 2012. Qatar Gas Transport Co. or Nakilat gained the most (up 2.20%). Al Khaleej Takaful Insurance and Reinsurance Co. slipped 0.75%. The Islamic insurer disclosed its financial results for the period ending on Dec. 31st 2012 with a net profit of QR78.2m compared to QR63.4m in 2011. Earnings per share amounted to QR5.50 in 2012 compared to QR4.46 in 2011.
