Qatar Fuel Company with steady Q1 profit, steps up expansion

The Qatar Exchange 20 Index gained half a percentage point Sunday, closing at 8,637.16 points. Shares of Qatar Fuel Co. known as Woqod, dived 2.70% to hit QR1.11. Earlier in the day, Woqod said its net profit (after excluding minority interest) reach QR241.2m in Q1, as compared to QR240.7m for the same period of 2012. The firm added that expansion projects for existing petrol stations are currently taking place at Al-Hilal, Industrial Area , North University, Gharrafa, West Bay, Thayen, Muaither, Al Seylia, Bu Fasila, Dukhan and Mesaimeer East. "Some of these expansions are near completion and the other will be finished during the first half of 2013."
