Qatar health council has not yet issued Augmentin withdrawal order

Qatar's Supreme Council of Health is yet to notify pharmacies across the country of its order to withdraw the children's antibiotic syrup, Augmentin, Gulf Times has reported. The drug, bearing the manufacturing code 517999 and manufactured by Glaxo Smith Kline, is said to contain small plastic particles in the packaging, which may mix with the medication. It is used to treat a wide range of infections caused by bacteria and such infections may affect the chest (bronchitis or pneumonia), bladder (cystitis), sinuses (sinusitis), the ears (otitis media) or the skin.
