- PRESS RELEASE
Qatar Leadership Centre (QLC), dedicated to advancing the leadership of all Qataris with proven talent, has concluded its next filtering process for its Current and Future Executive Leaders Programme participants as the programme nears its launch.
The Current and Future Executive Leaders Program is aimed at identifying Qatari executives with leadership potential. This QLC program is open to Qatari nationals between the ages of 36-46, and marks the first time that a leadership programme of this calibre is being launched.
Last April, QLC asked potential leaders to submit their applications for the Current and Future Executive Leaders Programme. There was an overwhelmingly positive response as 126 applications were submitted. QLC then had the difficult task of cutting down the 126 applications received to 100 with the remaining 100 candidates then moving forward to the psychometric assessment phase.
The psychometric assessment focused on three components. Firstly, personable and behaviourable activities. This was followed by analyzing the individual's ability in areas such as verbal and numerical understanding. And the final component was occupation and work interests.
The results from the psychometric assessments will ensure that the final accepted applicants are of the highest quality that Qatar has to offer. As these leaders are being handpicked to provide better support to Qatar in the future.
His Excellency Sheikh Dr Abdulla bin Ali Al-Thani, QLC's Executive Director and Board Member of the Centre said: "Following on from the success of the Current and Future Leaders Programme, the 25 - 35 year old program, we are very proud of our next program. This program finds, trains and nurtures the more senior members of our society. The younger program will form the foundation of the next senior leaders, but we must now focus on the current senior leadership who have so much talent but who will also benefit immeasurably from further training."
Overall, QLC's Current and Future Executive Leaders programme will strongly focus on developing leadership and personal skills as well as management acumen, with an emphasis on regional and global trends. QLC continues to invest in tomorrow's leaders, today, by offering these types of programs.
After the psychometric assessment, the final phase will be a 20 minute interview before a QLC panel and its board members. These interviews will be conducted over a 3 day period from the 16th until the 18th of September. Through such programs, QLC continues is to select, develop and support individuals who demonstrate the potential to positively contribute toward the sustainable development and growth of Qatar.
The Director of Strategy and Performance at QLC, Khaled El Gohary said: "We were very impressed with the quality of the applicants for this programme. The more senior age group clearly understood the type of person we were looking to enroll and have articulated their case extremely well. We are looking forward to the final panel interview stage where we will be able to really investigate their desire and their potential".
Following all assessments, the training program will be launched on December the 11th 2012.
QLC has been established to fulfil a key role in strengthening the leadership capacity of Qatar's current and upcoming leaders through promoting leadership development across all spheres. The Centre continues to source leaders from across Qatar's network in order to reflect the country's need to nurture diverse leaders across all industries.
As QLC moves forward with the Current and Future Executive Leaders Programme, it is evident that the Leadership Centre is now more relevant than ever. QLC is always looking to identify, select, nurture and develop those people that are most fit to lead Qatar to 2030 success and beyond.
