Qatar market loses the 6th day straight

The QE 20 Index ended off 1.18% at 8,381.03 points Sunday as share lost acorss the board. Vodafone Qatar gained the most (up 1.14% at QR8.90) among the 3 advancing stocks. Market bellwether Industries Qatar fell by 2.50% to QR153.80. Qatar Gas Transport or Nakilat closed 2.10% lower at Qr15.63. Earlier in the day, Nakilat said it earned in Q1 a net profit of QR177m, up from QR176.5m for the corresponding period in 2012. The loss on derivative instruments of QR11.8m for Q1 2013, compared with a loss on derivative instruments of QR10m for Q1 2012 was due to a technical disqualification (for accounting purposes) of the applicable derivatives (carried in the books of the company's overseas joint venture) as hedging instruments in accordance with International Accounting Standard 39.
