Qatar Petroleum organizes seminar on occupational health nursing

The one-day seminar was supported by Mr. Ahmad Ali Abdulla Al-Mawlawi, Director for Administration, and Dr. Mahmood Al-Jaidah, Manager for Medical Services of QP.

Held at the Four Seasons Hotel, the seminar was organized with the theme "Occupational Health Nursing: Current Practices and Future Challenges." It featured a distinguished lineup of speakers consisting of occupational health experts, educators and other health-related professionals representing various institutions within Qatar.

The OHN seminar discussed a wide range of topics, including the best practices in occupational health nursing, the trends in functional capacity evaluation, sickness absence management and the local perspectives in OHN education. Other presentations focused on the industry's frontline clinics, conducting psychological assessments, and the OH-HSE collaboration program.

As part of the event, there was also a poster competition on the subject of occupational health issues and practices, and the competition was open both to individuals and institutions.

Among the main objectives of the OHN seminar was to provide occupational health nurses with the knowledge needed to further improve the quality of OHN practice in the industry. It also aimed to strengthen their capacity to provide the basic pillars of OHN practice and identified new opportunities to influence quality OHN outcomes through a structured OHN practice.

The OHN Seminar brought together a national network of occupational health nurses, thus giving them an opportunity to share experiences and best practices. Other major objectives of the seminar were to attract Qatari nationals to enter the field of occupational health and to invite universities, colleges and other educational institutions to provide information on their courses and programs related to occupational health nursing.
