Commenting on the Company's participation in the event, Mansour Rashid Al-Naimi, Qatargas Public Relations Manager, said, "Promoting road safety is a key component of Qatargas' corporate social responsibility programme and the Company views events such as the GCC Traffic Week as platforms to support the efforts of the Ministry of Interior's Traffic Department in educating the public on road safety and prevention of traffic accidents. The main focus of participation this year is to educate the young generation on the hazards of using mobile phones while driving, which is a major cause of traffic accidents."
The Traffic Week features a host of festivities and events focusing on traffic awareness and the importance of respecting rules and regulations. Several activities have been designed to address people of different ages and raise their level of co-operation with the traffic police.
