Qatar's GIS reports 47.5% jump in Q1 income

Qatar-based oil services firm Gulf International Services (GIS) has reported a 47.5% surge in net profits for the first three months of 2013 to QR135.8m, compared with QR43.8m for the corresponding period last year, the Peninsula has reported. Total assets stood at QR5.17bn ended March 31, 2013. GIS, wholly-owned by Al Koot, Insurance and Reinsurance, owns a controlling stake (69.99%) in Gulf Drilling International Ltd.
