Nakilat joint venture snatches luxure vessel deal

The Doha-based QE 20 Index added 0.10% Wednesday, closing at 8,578.37 points. Shares of Qatar Gas Transport Co. or Nakilat advanced 0.40% to reach QR17.44. Earlier in the day, the company said that its joint venture Nakilat Damen Shipyards Qatar (NDSQ) has signed a contract for the construction of a 69m-long fast luxury vessel, to be built entirely in Qatar. The e-mailed statement did not release the value of the contract. NDSQ is a joint venture between Nakilat and Dutch shipbuilder Damen and is based at Erhama Bin Jaber Al Jalahma Shipyard in Ras Laffan, Qatar. "The customized vessel will be built at Qatar's state-of-the-art Erhama Bin Jaber Al Jalahma Shipyard by NDSQ, the shipbuilding joint venture between Qatari shipping company Nakilat and Dutch shipbuilding group Damen Shipyards," said NDSQ.
