Qatar's state-run utility posts lower profits despite rise in sales

Qatar Electricity and Water Co has said its net profits fell 6% year-on-year in the first nine months of this year, despite a 3% rise in sales, the Peninsula has reported. The company made a net profit of QR980m in the period, compared with QR1.04bn for the same period in 2011. Sales climbed to QR3.44bn during the nine-month period, compared with QR3.34bn in the corresponding period a year earlier.
