The grand flypast was carried out by Emirates' third impressive double-decker A380 aircraft, piloted by Captain Abbas Shaban. As well as the Emirates A380, QE2 was greeted by a flotilla of local yachts, boats and leisure-craft led by a Royal Navy Frigate.

SCTA seeks SAGIA support to mobilise new investments

The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) has announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA), Arab News has reported. The agreement is expected to lead to greater cooperation between the two government organisations for the benefit of the national economy, said SCTA president, Prince Sultan bin Salman. The pact would also boost investments in the tourism sector, and with plans to establish a number of giant projects in the tourism sector, SAGIA's professional support would help in mobilising investments for these projects, he said.
