Q.NBN awarded 25 year license to operate fiber optic broadband network in Qatar

Qatar National Broadband Network (Q.NBN)has received a 25 year license to provide Qatar with fiber optic broadband throughout the country. Q.NBN has been officially endorsed as the fiber optic broadband infrastructure provider for Qatar.
Fiber-optic broadband network will change people's lives dramatically and empower businesses across the nation to be more competitive. It will do this by delivering the broadband and Internet speeds people require to succeed at work and enjoy next generation service innovations and content.
It will also allow people to experience more efficient and responsive public services in their everyday life and represents one of the most important milestones for the country.It will significantly enhance capability to offer voice, high-speed internet access and other data services along with innovative content such as high-definition TV and 3D multimedia programs.
Mohamad Al-Mannai, Q.NBN Chief Executive Officer, said: "We are delighted to receive our official license to operate from ictQatar which will mark the start of a new era of high speed communication in Qatar. Receiving this license is an acknowledgement of Q.NBN's vision aligned with 2030 to provide Qatar with the very latest technology platform to help achieve a knowledge-based sustainable economy,"
Q.NBN's continued and relentless efforts have allowed them to reduce their initial three year time slot to secure the license to just one year. The license effectively endorses Q.NBN's mission to ensure Qatar has the fastest Internet speeds to enhance businesses, consumers, education, health and e-Government in the region.
