Qatar Petroleum opens first CNG filling station

  • Qatar: Monday, November 26 - 2012 at 05:46

Qatar Petroleum (QP) has launched the country's first CNG filling station at the New Industrial Area, Gulf Times has reported. The station was designed and built by QP as a pilot project and part of the feasibility study of using CNG as an alternative fuel for road transport in Qatar. CNG is considered a green fuel as it emits virtually no particulate matter (soot), and significantly reduces carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and nitrous oxides, all of which are harmful to human health or contribute to global warming.
