In its second session, the Minister of Interior Excellence Award identifies companies that apply high-quality specifications in their buildings and work on continuous maintenance at low cost. RAK Ceramics won the distinction over 18 finalists that comprised notable names from the UAE, with Major-General Nassir Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalisation, Residency and Ports Affairs presenting the company with the award for being the Ideal Firm.

The company was recognised for its long list of credentials and achievements that continue to position RAK Ceramics as the world's leading company. Deserving of the honour, RAK Ceramics relents in undertaking the best quality management systems in the Middle East, and providing employees with the ideal working environment - starting from high-quality specification in the construction of the buildings followed by full health and safety measures in RAK Ceramics premises. RAK Ceramics was recognized for complying with labour laws and the company primarily believes that the Human Factor is the most important element of any institutional productivity and is a key marker of success.

The measurements also include moving beyond monetary profit to focus on Corporate Social Responsibility gain, with various initiatives to support the surrounding community. The company's environment-awareness is only to be applauded, as RAK Ceramics continues to introduce environmentally-friendly products and initiatives that have brought on extensive certification from governing authorities, including an Environmental Performance Certification from the Ministry of Environment and Water for its outstanding environmental performance during the year 2012, and its ongoing efforts to ensure a sustainable environment.

RAK Ceramics' overall efficiency is higher than standard norms and the ISO-certified company (ISO 14001:2004) is keen on following stringent processes in terms of quality in management and manufacturing.

Abdallah Massaad, Chief Executive Officer, RAK Ceramics, commented: "Beyond scope and reach, an 'Ideal Firm' is one that works from within to ensure that what is delivered comes from a place of intrinsic passion to succeed. We are very proud of this achievement, not only for our company, but for Ras Al Khaimah as well. Our commitment to employee welfare has played a crucial path in the company's success in terms of productivity. Together we have ensured excellence and efficiency is imbedded in every aspect of our work place."
