Saudi Arabia's Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA) has said 95% of the Al-Orouba and Abu Bakr Assidiq road extension through Riyadh Airbase has been completed, Arab News has reported. The project involves the implementation of new 11km highways and the establishment of tunnels running under the new and existing runways of the Riyadh Airbase with a total length of 2.2km. It will help ease traffic on Makkah, King Abdulaziz and King Fahd roads, reducing the number of kilometres travelled within the city by 129,000km per day and the number of hours spent on the roads by more than 58,800 hours a day, ADA said. "Upon completion, Al-Orouba and Abu Bakr Assidiq streets will play a major role in mitigating traffic congestion in the kingdom's capital city, serving more than 560,000 vehicles daily," it said.
