Rizon Jet accuses QCAA of 'favouritism' towards Qatar Airways
- Qatar: Tuesday, March 26 - 2013 at 03:38
Qatar's Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) has dismissed as "baseless" accusations made by Rizon Jet against the regulator's "unfair competitive practices" and "favouritism towards state-backed Qatar Airways," after the private aviation services provider was penalised for violating local civil aviation rules, the Peninsula has reported. "I don't care what they (Rizon Jet) say; and why they accuse Qatar Civil Aviation Authority. I can only say that they have violated (rules); and have been penalised," Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Noaimi, QCAA chairman told the daily, declining to elaborate on alleged violations by the company. Rizon Jet earlier said the QCAA rejected all applications from other private jet customers to use the Rizon Jet VIP terminal, adding that 50% of its revenue had previously come from other jet operators using their facilities.
