RTA may make eWallet available for residents

The Roads and Transport Authority has said the eWallet online payment facility for corporates that was launched last week may be extended to individual residents by the end of the year, Khaleej Times has reported. The service is now in its pilot run with Avis, and vehicle fleet companies have been invited to a meeting on April 3 for a discussion on online services including eWallet, said the CEO of the RTA's Licensing Agency, Ahmed Bahrozyan. "Late in 2013 we expect to make the eWallet service also available to individuals, which will provide an alternative to using credit cards if people choose to do so," said Bahrozyan.
