The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) kicks off the unified Gulf Traffic Week events in conjunction with the Ministry of Interior and other traffic departments of the UAE during the period 10 - 14 instant.

Engineer Maitha bin Udai, CEO of RTA Traffic & Roads Agency, said, "The unified Gulf Traffic Week's events will be kicked off today by launching awareness events at health centers in Dubai in cooperation with the Dubai Health Authority, starting from Al Barsha Center and targeting mothers and visitors at the Center. Training workshops to be held will focus on how to protect family members from traffic accidents, and stress the importance of having a child seat onboard along with the use of the safety belt."

"The awareness events of the Week revolve around the theme of the Gulf Traffic Week: Your Safety is Our Goal. Some events will therefore focus on evolving community members' perception of traffic personnel and enhancing the positive image of traffic organizations which are constantly seeking to protect the road security and ensure the traffic safety of all," she added.

On Monday, events will focus on drivers and road users all over Dubai. Parking inspectors and traffic awareness team supervisors in the Agency will be deployed in several main car-parks in Dubai to distribute complimentary juices to drivers coupled with small gifts including key information about safe driving.

"Main events of the Week will start on Tuesday by a reception ceremony for GCC delegates, and honouring university students taking part in the Best Awareness Design of Driving Distracters in the presence of several entities concerned in the field of traffic safety. Events lineup also includes newly released cartoon movies oriented to juniors, new Issue of Salama magazine, and the streaming of awareness flashes oriented to children on Tawazon Space Channel," elaborated Maitha.

"On Wednesday and Thursday, several awareness events will be run at Dubai Schools in collaboration with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, and others to be staged within RTA premises in coordination with the Dubai Health Authority, and Welcare Hospital in addition to Speedfit Car Repair, Jawbone and Almarai companies," concluded the CEO of RTA Traffic & Roads Agency.
