RTA opens new water bus line between Festival City and Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary

The Public Transport Agency, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has recently launched a new water bus line to shuttle between the Festival City Station, and Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary; which is surrounded by lush greens, treating passengers to picturesque and captivating views dotted with flying birds in the locality at the backdrop of modern Dubai skyline, offering much enjoyment of the serenity and tranquillity of the Creek waters.

Baha Uddin Al Qudra, Director of Marine Transport at Public Transport Agency, said, "The RTA is always keen on supporting the tourist marine transit sector in Dubai through working hand-in-hand with official & semi-official entities, hotels, businesses and tourist bodies in a team spirit with the aim of making unprecedented achievements in the mass transit and tourist sectors; which will bring about effective contribution to the tourist & urban profile of Dubai Emirate."

"In a short cruise lasting about 30 minutes, passengers will experience a safe & smooth transit punctuated by stunning sea views and the bus will slow down at certain locations to enable passengers take memorable photos of gorgeous sceneries in abundance," continued Al Qudra.

This Water Bus service will start at 10 am and 11 am, continue at 2 pm and 3 pm, and again at 4 pm, 5 pm and 6 pm from Saturday to Thursday. On Fridays and official holidays, the service will run at 2 pm, 3 pm, 4 pm, 5 pm and 6 pm.

The fare is Dhs25 per person in a round trip, and tickets will be issued onboard the Water Bus; which can also be chartered for those interested in having private trips.

The Water Bus, which is a convenient, safe and air-conditioned water transit means has been launched in 2007 to ferry passengers between Dubai Creek stations, is characterized by deluxe and roomy seats, and fitted with hi techs such as LCD monitors and other features that make commuters savour this unique transit experience.

The Water Bus has a dual base design offering high levels of stability rendering it the best and easiest means of crossing the Dubai Creek. Ferrying over five lines, the Water Bus provides passengers and tourists new prospects for exploring the Dubai Creek in a new and thrilling style.

As the RTA is keen on providing the maximum amount of comfort to passengers, each marine transit station is fitted with purpose-built kiosks selling snacks, magazines and newspapers to commuters.
