Saaed for Traffic Systems has signed an ambitious Memorandum of Understanding with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) through its cyber-security initiative, the UAE Computer Emergency Response Team (aeCERT) during GITEX Technology Week 2012.

Under the specifications of the memorandum, TRA (aeCERT) will assist Saaed in five key areas related to cyber-security: Consultancy & Education; Advisory Services; Monitoring & Response; Research & Analysis and Security Quality. aeCERT will function as the advisory body to advise on all processes related to educating Saaed's ICT personnel, liaising with national and international CERT organizations, issuing alerts on possible vulnerable areas, researching new technologies and measuring the quality of Saaed's information system.

His Excellency Majed Al Mesmar, Deputy Director General, Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), who signed the agreement on behalf of TRA, was complimentary of Saaed's achievements in cutting-edge traffic systems: "Cyber-security is an issue which the TRA takes extremely seriously, so we applaud the stance taken by Saaed to safeguard their clients' electronic records. We pursue international best practice in all our endeavors, and this is underlined by the fact that we have helped the UAE achieve the best ranking regionally and fourth best ranking globally for cyber-security. Hence the TRA will take all the necessary steps through our aeCERT initiative to facilitate a vigilant ICT infrastructure for the betterment of our nation's cyberspace."

The agreement was signed by His Excellency Engineer Ibrahim Youssef Ramel, CEO of Saaed in attendance of His Excellency Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmad Al Harthi, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police and chairman of Saaed board of directors who said: "As a police force, we value security - whether it is electronic, physical or otherwise. It is therefore gratifying to note that this partnership with the TRA (aeCERT) will aid Saaed in the prevention, detection and rapid response to cyber security threats, and transform its electronic infrastructure into an ironclad fortress."

From his side, His Excellency Eng. Ibrahim Ramel, CEO of Saaed explained: "Saaed has built a reputation for rapid response to traffic accidents, so we are delighted to have a partner to advise us in cyber-security breaches and troubleshooting. Therefore this collaboration will help preventing us from any security threats, thereby keeping our clients' information completely safe and confidential."

It is worth noting that this strategic agreement that was signed on TRA stand is one of several new partnerships and advanced technologies which Saaed is making to further establish a sustainable traffic scene.
