SABIC and KACST sign MoU in fundamental and applied science to advance research for benefit to society

The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) and the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to examine the possibility of establishing a cooperative relationship in the areas of scientific research, technology and economic development in fundamental and applied chemical sciences and engineering for the benefit of Saudi citizens and society at large.

The MoU was signed at KACST in Riyadh by Prince Dr. Turki Saud Mohammad Al Saud, KACST Vice President for Research Institutes, and Ernesto Occhiello, SABIC Executive Vice President, Technology and Innovation.

According to the MoU, "SABIC and KACST wish to explore the possibility of collaborative efforts towards the goal of fostering world-class cooperative programmes that will contribute to the advancement of research, technological and economic development in fundamental and applied chemical sciences and engineering, and for the benefit of all mankind."

Potential areas of research and collaboration include Catalysis, Nanotechnology, Advanced Materials and Sustainability.
