Salalah Port posts 29% jump in Q1 net income

Salalah Port Services Co has said net profit for the first three months of this year jumped 29% year-on-year to OR2.07m, Oman Daily Observer has reported. Net profit after tax almost doubled to OR2.065m during the first quarter from OR1.605m for the corresponding period in 2012. General cargo volumes handled by the Omani port during the first quarter rose 18% to 1.9 million tonnes, compared with figures from a year earlier, the firm said.
