SAP enables Qtel customers in Qatar to send money around world with their mobile phone via MoneyGram

The secure, convenient and global transfer of money can happen in as little as ten minutes (subject to local rules and regulations), allowing recipients to collect the cash from MoneyGram local agents, offering a highly efficient way to transfer money without the need of a bank account.

The announcement was made at Mobile World Congress 2013, being held in Barcelona, Spain, February 25-28, where SAP is located at Hall 7, 7C70.

"With the global economy increasingly becoming a mobile economy, consumers require convenient access to transaction channels anytime, anywhere," said Matthew Talbot, senior vice president, Mobile Commerce, SAP.

"The agreement with Qtel expands the mobile money ecosystem, creating more reach for operators to better serve their customers and help drive the adoption of mobile payment services particularly in regions with large numbers of under-banked subscribers," he added.
