Saudi Arabia awards contract for 7,000 new residential units in Riyadh

The Saudi housing ministry has signed a SR1.063bn contract with a local company for the first housing project in Riyadh, northwest of King Khaled International Airport, Saudi Gazette has reported. To be completed within two years, the 5m sq m project will comprise 7,000 housing units on developed residential plots of land, 24 schools for boys and girls and 24 kindergartens, a number of community centres, a sewage treatment plant, as well as 18 to 36-metre wide roads and parks.
